Some of the insurances for which we are providers are: Delta Dental Premier Plus, Florida Combined, Cigna PPO, Ameritas, Guardian, MetLife, Principal, United Healthcare PPO, Dentemax, UniCare, GEHA, Lincoln, Eagles, and Standard. Other plans are also accepted, so please ask us if you don’t see yours in that list. If we are not providers for your insurance plan, we are happy to file the claim and handle any questions from the insurance company. We are NOT providers for HMOs or discount cards.
Unfortunately, we are not providers for Medicaid, Medicare, CMS, or Florida Kid Care. If you have one of these insurances and would like to be seen at our office, we are more than happy to see you, however please be aware that all expenses will be out of pocket for you. We do offer payment plans, but if you are looking to have your braces covered by a Medicaid-affiliated insurance, we recommend you call the orthodontic residency clinic at the University of Florida (at Shands Hospital). Their telephone number is 352-273-5700.
Braces can cost anywhere from two thousand to six thousand dollars, depending on the difficulty of the case and estimated treatment time.
Yes! We offer interest-free payment plans, and we accept Care Credit. (Also, we offer a discount for payment in full.)
We do not. You will need to see your general dentist for those services. It IS important to maintain your regular cleaning schedule while in braces.
Our specialty is metal braces with the band colors of your choice (so get creative!). We also offer gold, or, for the upper teeth only, ceramic. (Ceramic has less metal than regular braces, but you can’t get colors with it.)
We do not. Dr. Jones feels that braces achieve superior results, so he has limited his practice to that.
The process of applying braces doesn’t hurt. However, that evening when your teeth start moving you will feel some pressure and tightness. Don’t worry, we’ll give you some tips on how to manage your discomfort. By day three or four you’ll notice a definite improvement in how you feel, and after two to three weeks the braces will hardly impact your life at all.
Generally, unless your dentist has noticed something in particular, nine or ten is a good age for the first orthodontic exam. Usually, Dr. Jones doesn’t recommend braces at that first visit. Every now and then, however, Dr. Jones will recommend two phases of treatment: one around age 8-10 and one around age 12-14.
